Niek Hilkmann is kunstenaar, muzikant en onderzoeker met een achtergrond in kunstgeschiedenis, mediadesign en visuele cultuur. Hij houdt zich bezig met de wisselwerking tussen de technologische constructie waarin we momenteel leven en de mentale en natuurlijke wildernis die hier altijd mee in spanning staat. Hij is lid van Varia, een centrum voor alledaagse technologie, organiseert evenementen via het Platform Voor Extratonaliteit en maakt muziek met de band Kwartet Niek Hilkmann.

Niek Hilkmann is an artist, musician and researcher with a background in art history, media design and visual culture. He is concerned with the interaction between the technological construction in which we currently live and the mental and natural wilderness that is always in tension with it. He is a member of Varia, a center for everyday technology, organizes events through the Platform For Extratonality and makes music with the band Kwartet Niek Hilkmann.
